Supermarket Freezer Breakdown

Our team attended a breakdown at a supermarket where the main freezer room was losing temperature.

This system still utilises three hot gas defrost blowers, connected to a three-compressor rack system. Our technicians discovered the system had lost almost its entire refrigerant charge from three sections of damaged copper tube deep inside the evaporator coil.

From the time of the high temperature alarm at 2:00pm on a Friday, our technicians had the system back up and running, and down to temperature, by 6:00pm. This prevented any stock loss to the customer, and didn’t require the stock to be moved to another room.

As we work on-call 24/7, and we have our own scissor lift available, the team were able to complete this repair quickly and efficiently, limiting the downtime and costs to our client.
