Management Team

Paul Messina, Director

Paul has over 17 years’ experience in the air conditioning and refrigeration industry, and is experienced in both commercial and domestic air conditioning and refrigeration. Paul has a variety of experience in the HVAC-R industry, including:

  • Installation, service, repair and maintenance of commercial air conditioning systems

  • Repairs, service and maintenance of commercial cold rooms and freezer rooms

  • Experience with different types of air conditioning systems including ducted air conditioning, cassette units, wall mounted systems, split systems, package units and under ceiling units

  • Diagnosing faults and reporting on issues

  • Installation and maintenance of light commercial refrigeration units

  • Installation, repair and maintenance of water cooling systems

  • Project management of air conditioning systems across multiple properties on behalf of real estate agents

  • Warranty agent for Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic and Rinnai systems.

On the odd occasion when Paul is not at work, he can be found in the great outdoors, exploring the Cairns region, camping and fishing with his family.

Jason Morrissey, Service Manager

Jason brings almost 27 years’ HVAC-R industry experience to his role as Service Manager at MAE. As a qualified and experienced refrigeration mechanic, Jason specialises in multiple areas within the refrigeration industry, including but not limited to:

  • Refrigeration Systems Design and Construction (cold rooms, freezer rooms, cold storage depots, and generally all refrigerated systems)

  • Air Conditioning Systems Design and Construction (commercial ducted systems, chiller and chilled water systems, VRV systems, all general domestic air conditioning)

  • Contracts Administration, front line management, HVAC-R Service management, and Business Development (including completing work for Woolworths, QBuild, Queensland Health, Coles, and Supa IGA)

  • Project Estimating and Project Management, including delivering numerous refrigeration and air conditioning projects ranging in price from $5,000 to $1.2m (such as cold storage depots, supermarkets, health facilities and multi-storey buildings).

Jason is also an experienced air conditioning and refrigeration commissioning technician, with expertise in fault diagnosis, reporting, and system repairs, and is a Certified Energy Auditor.

When Jason is not at work, he likes to get away on holidays with his family and is a proud coach of a local Cairns Junior Rugby League team.

Administration Team

Our administration team have over 40 years’ combined experience in trades-based administration and accounts.

Supporting our technical team, our administration team ensure that our systems and processes run smoothly, and that the right people are in the right place at the right time.

Technical Team

The MAE technical team is comprised of a number of tradespeople and apprentices ready to provide commercial cooling solutions to Cairns and Far North Queensland.

Our technicians specialise in commercial air conditioning and refrigeration, and the team includes a dual-qualified technician who specialises in commercial refrigeration and electrical services.

Working 24/7 on call, our technical team are always available to ensure your service and repair needs are met when you need it.
